Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Khan is Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Diploma Associate of Institute of Bankers Pakistan (IBP), Pakistan. He is also a “Certified Director” from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG).

Mr. Khan a retired Central Banker with an illustrious career spanning more than 35 years including over 13 years in a high-ranking positions as an Executive Director, having cross-functional skills and experience in Banking Policy, Regulations, Supervision, Development Finance, Islamic Banking, Foreign Exchange Policy & Operations, Currency Management, Payment System Regulations, Oversight & Development, Human Resource Management, Finance, Administration etc.

Apart from this illustrious career, he worked with Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) – KSA on deputation as an Advisor on Banking Policy. He served as acting CEO EXIM Bank of Pakistan and MD/CEO SBP Banking Service Corporation (Bank). He also served as Member Board of Directors and its committees of State Bank of Pakistan Banking Service Corporation (Bank), National Institute of Banking & Finance (NIBAF) and Pakistan Security Printing Corporation (PSPC). He represented SBP/GOP as Deputy Negotiator for establishment of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in China and dealt with bilateral institutions Vis-à-vis IMF, IDP, ADB, World Bank, DFID, USAID, IFC, etc. on various spectrums and also participated in FATF and APG meeting on AML/CFT matters.

He attended various domestic and international trainings, seminars, workshops, conferences as participant as well as speaker related to Banking Regulations & Supervision, Development Finance, Branchless Banking, Islamic Banking, Currency Management and Human Resources Management etc.

Mr. Khan is presently engaged with BankIslami Pakistan Ltd on retainer-ship and Consilium Consultancy as a consultant. He is also serving as Director on the Board of OBS Pharma (Private) Limited, CERISMA (Private) limited a subsidiary company of Pakistan State Oil (PSO).

Huma Waheed is resident of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan by birth.

She completed her Master of Law (Company Law) from University of Karachi, Pakistan.

She Joined United as a Manager underwriting and IT professional and introduced computerized accounting system in the Company. In a short passage of time she got promotions and gained experience of insurance and other businesses of her Group of Companies.

In 2003 Huma was nominated and elected as a Director of the Board of the United Insurance Company of Pakistan Ltd. Company’s Board also nominated her as working Director of the Company.

Huma Waheed is also an important pillar of United International Group. In April 2012 she was appointed as a Vice Chairperson of United International Group consist of United Track System, United Software & Technology international, Tawasul Healthcare (TPA), Tawasul Developers, Tawasul Dubai, Tawasul Risk management and United Farms.

She is also a Certified Director from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.

Mr. Shahid has constituted a group of various type companies well known as United International Group (UIG) a group covers Insurance, Banking, Communication and Information Technology Sectors. He also flourishes the roots of business outside Pakistan as a Chairman of the Group.

In 1996 Muhammad Akram Shahid took over the charge of United Insurance Company of Pakistan Ltd as a General Manager, and elected as a Director on October 1999. Shahid got the reins of United as a President & CEO in April 2003 and proved himself as a most competent and competitive Head of the Company.

In a very short span of time Muhammad Akram Shahid has made United, a 4th largest Insurance Company of the Pakistan Insurance Industry

In 2012 he relinquished his position from the United Board and decided to work as an advisor to the Board of Director of United Insurance Company of Pakistan Limited.

Mr. Muhammad Akram Shahid got success in diversified fields. He acquired Apna Microfinance Bank Ltd in the year 2012 and became Director of the Bank. He was elected Chairman of the Bank for the year 2013-2014, re-elected as a Chairman in 2016 and serving the Bank till to date. Bank is strengthening its position under his chairmanship day by day.

Mr. Shahid is driving the United towards the leading position in the Insurance Industry through balanced business strategies and productive policies.

Mr. Mohammed Rahat Sadiq is a well-known personality in Pakistan Insurance Industry. He Joined United Insurance Company of Pakistan Ltd in 2007. He performed various executive duties of the company. In 2011 he became Advisor to the Chairman of UIC. Later on he was appointed as Director of the Board and Executive officer.

Insurance Background:
He started off his carrier in Insurance in 1976 in the London market with two of the leading insurance brokers in UK, Launds Lambert and Willis Faber & Dumas. During his training, he was able to attend the in-house insurance courses organized by them and Chartered Insurance Institute UK.

He was with Insurance Company of North America (INA), they changed its name later to Chubb Insurance Co. He worked at their Head Office in Philadelphia USA, Regional Office UK and Greece heading the company’s Casualty Division for the Middle East and Africa.

Silver Star Insurance Company Limited Pakistan (SSIC) (1984 to 2003)

In December 1983 he moved back to Pakistan and started working on the licensing requirements of the company. He established Silver Star in 1983 and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Company. His tenure successfully ended with SSIC in 2003 in the capacity of vice chairman.

Pakistan Reinsurance Corporation (PRC) (2003 to 2006)

He joined PRC as an Executive Director, in 2003. He was given dual charge as ED Planning and Development Division and Director in-charge of ECO Reinsurance Pool.

United International Group

Was appointed CEO of UIG Group of Companies in October 2023.
